Kremlin’s State Palace, Moskow

Architectural visualization - atriumidea.

Moscow fortress Kremlin (Moskovsky Kreml) is one of the most famous buildings in the world. Apart from being the official residence of the president of Russia, its walls enclose four Orthodox temples and four palaces. One object that is distinct by its architecture is Kremlin Palace of Congress built in 1961. It is also used for concerts and other cultural events. Its capacity is 6000 seats, which makes this hall one of the biggest and most prominent in Europe. 50 years after its construction, old-fashioned interior design had to be modernized. The OTASH studio and designers Dejan Otašević, Ivo Otašević, and Uroš Otašević were entrusted with making the project. Their concept was not to change any of the existing geometry, but to dress it in high technology equipment – wooden latticed frames rigged with LED lights, which make the walls participants in the events on the scene.

To get approval from the highest instances of Russian government, and before the final project was made, it was necessary to justify high construction price. We were hired to make 3D animation of the general concept, and afterwards, an accurate model in accordance with the actual specifications for wall cladding, ceiling (which has a major role in acoustics of the hall), LED lights positions and overhanging canvases above the stage (which have a function in stage lighting). We put an extra effort in achieving realistic lighting effect. For more detailed description see http://www.archdaily.com/43261/reconstruction-of-kremlin-concert-hall-otash-studio/.
